Jackson Roller Rink shows signs of H.O.P.E.

Erin started Kindergarten this fall at Lucy N. Holman, but because we were expecting our 2nd child, I couldn’t really attend many school functions and once Jack was born in November, the next few months were even worse for us, but now that he’s outgrown colic and reflux and sleeps somewhat through the night, our community social lives are back on track.
Last month, Terry Schiazza and the H.O.P.E. organization (Lucy N. Holman Elementary PTA organization) came through with a fun night of bowling and the performance of the Lorax at the school. Both were masterfully planned and the kids loved it. Today, we attended their roller skating event at the Jackson Roller Rink.
When coming to Jackson and learning we were zoned for Lucy N. Holman, I was concerned about the age and condition of the school. The Holman School is like the rickety old grandma of the school district. I was also concerned about the prospect of my child potentially having to learn out of a trailer, but thanks to the great teaching staff there and the hard work put forth by H.O.P.E., I’m glad we’re a Holman family. Lots of families showed up and even though a fair amount of the kids flopped and flailed their way the rink, a good time was had by all. Once again, thank you Ms. Shiazza and H.O.P.E.
