Dear JLL Parents,

It has been a pleasure this past week covering your children and providing them with a service that I personally feel should be the job of the Asbury Park Press and Jackson Times.  Since they were not, I felt they deserved attention in their quest for Williamsport.   My daughter started this year in the Jackson Little League and the organization has been great to her and it has been my pleasure to give back and hopefully we can continue this until Williamsport and the years beyond!

I started Jackson NJ Online this year as a way to give ordinary Jackson residents such as your children and yourselves an online platform and voice that can be heard.   One that many residents often do not get to use.   As you are aware, our schools have taken a financial beating over the past 7 years as “gated” communities frequently vote against our children’s education in town, resulting in the elimination of many services to our children.

After meeting with senior community, I learned that their reasons stem from what they percieve as mismanagement in our district.  High executive salaries, wasteful spending, union interference and reckless management by local political parties bent on controlling our Board of Education..

This year, parents successfully united and voted FOR the school budget for the first time in 7 years.  We installed 2 parents, just like ourselves with no political ties on the school board and over the next 2 years, I will be working VERY hard to remove the remaining political forces from our children’s educational futures and supporting parents in Board of Education elections.

It is VERY important for parents.. Like me.. Like you to participate in the Board of Education campaigns and vote in order to keep politics out of education and to have a school board run by parents who care about the very same issues each one of us cares about, particularly providing the best possible quality of education we can afford that puts the bulk of the funding in the hands of children.

Please visit www.jacksonnjonline.com throughout the school year as I provide BOE meeting reports each month and we discuss many topics important to our children’s futures in Jackson’s education system.  Remember, as one of our fine parent candidates said this year.  This is Jackson.  It’s OUR town.  OUR children.   Let’s not continue to let political influences continue to destroy our children’s future.

If you wish to learn how to become more involved in education in our town and to help take back our schools, please contact me at any time.
 Thank You,
 Phil Stilton
