Jackson, NJ -- The Jackson Little League 12 year old all-star team extended their winning streak tonight to 4 games with a walk off home run victory against their cross town rivals, the Holbrook Little League all-star team.    The win advances the team once again in the Little League World Series tournament as they return to Jackson on Tuesday to play their first game of the District 18 semifinals, a double elimination tournament between the 4 remaining teams in the district.

The loss for Jackson’s Holbrook Little League unfortunately eliminated Jackson’s other all-star squad from the tournament.    It was yet another night of the long ball as both teams went deep on each other’s pitchers, but in the bottom of the 4th inning, Jackson Little League’s rally culminated with a walk off home run by  Steve Lazicki which invoked the 10 run mercy limit, thus ending the game after only 4 innings of play.

It was a bittersweet moment for our town as one of our teams advances and the other team closes out their season.  The Jackson Little League squad started the tournament off with a loss to Manchester last week, but have won every game since in dramatic fashion.  This was their second consecutive game in which the mercy rule was invoked, where they led by 10 or more runs after 4 innings of play.
