Jackson, NJ – The 12 year old Jackson Little League All-Stars continued their merciless rampage against their opponents as Shane Brand and Brandon Janofsky homered to lead the Jackson squad to their 5th consecutive win in the Little League World Series tournament, placing them in the winners bracket game on Thursday. If the can pull off one more win, they will advance to the District 18 championship on July 12th at the Holbrook Little League Complex.
Janofsky pitched a solid game limiting the Toms River East All-Stars to just 5 runs against Jackson’s 15 in 5 innings. For the third straight game, Jackson won by the mercy rule, leading by 10 or more runs in any inning after the 4th. Early on the game was postponed due to passing showers, but that didn’t stop the Jackson bats from pillaging Toms River’s pitching. Toms River coaches went through several pitchers, making sure they didn’t pitch more than 18 pitches in order to keep their starters eligible for their loser’s bracket game on Thursday, also to be played at Holbrook.

The All-Stars will play either Toms River Little League’s American squad or Berkley Township in the winners bracket game on Thursday, July 9th at 7:00 PM. The losers bracket game will be at 4:45 PM.
Our town now has fourt teams still in championship contention and if they continue winning, all three could possibly play in championship games on July 12th at the Holbrook Little League Complex, as Jackson is the host of this year’s championship games.

The Holbrook Senior All-Stars will face off against Berkley Township at 4PM on Wednesday at Lacey Township’s Little League Complex where the they are 2-0 in the competition.
The Jackson Little League Juniors can also advance to the Championship game on July 12th with a win this evening against Berkley Township.
Jackson also has teams still alive in the 10 and 11 year old divisions, making the total number of Jackson Township teams from both leagues still eligble at 4.
