Jackson, NJ – The 12 year old Jackson Little League All-Star team dominated the tournament favorites, Toms River Little League tonight by crushing their pitching and becoming the first team in the tournament to hold a consistent lead against the Toms River team. Unfortunately for Jackson, 9 runs and 4 big home runs was not enough to clinch a berth in Sunday’s Championship game as the Toms River team rallied for 6 runs in the bottom of the sixth, finished with a walk off grand slam to defeat our kids by a score of 10-9
Shane Brand, Ryan Takacs, Danny Serreino and Steve “Lazer” Lazicki went long tonight as Jackson’s hitters dominated Toms River’s pitching, putting Toms River in an awkward position of protecting pitchers to preserve their eligibility for Sunday’s championship game against either Jackson or the winner of the TRELL American vs. Berkley game.

Danny Serrieno pitched a solid game despite being suspiciously beaned by Toms River pitchers twice, managed to also go deep.. when he wasn’t being thrown at.

The Toms River American team has so far played a perfect tournament, never once being behind a game until tonight, revealing many cracks in their armor should the two teams face off in Sunday’s championship.
The Jackson team will play tomorrow night at 6:30 PM to secure their spot to challenge the Toms River team for a rematch for the championship at the Holbrook Little League Complex.
