Jackson 10 year old all-stars eliminated by Toms River East Nationals

Jackson, NJ – The Jackson Township Little League 10 year old all-stars were eliminated from the District 18 tournament today by the Toms River East Little League National team at the TRELL complex this afternoon.    Jackson was still in the game going into the 4th inning, trailing only by 2 in a 6-4 showdown, but Toms River’s bats came to life, assisted by walks, errors and passed ball by the Jackson team, driving in 10 runs.  After dominating their opponents thus far, the squad fell short in the first single elimination game.

Jackson started the tournament beating Lakewood (1-3) 11-0 after 5 innings.  Then they suffered an 8-3 loss to Toms River National (3-2) team, but bounced back to deafeat  Toms River East American (2-2) 13-0 in just 4 innings before finishing the double elimination round with a 3-1 record by beating Barnegat 8-4 and advancing to the single elimination quarterfinal against Toms River East National today. 

Toms River moves on to the four team double elimination round Monday night in Manchester.

The next Jackson Little League All-Star baseball game takes place Sunday morning at 11:00 am as the 11 year olds take on Toms River East National at the Toms River Little League complex on Mapletree Road in Toms River.
