Toms River, NJ – The 3-1 Jackson Little League 11 year old All-Stars travelled to Toms River today to play the 3-1 Toms River East National team in the first game of double elimination play by a score of 10-0 after 5 innings, invoking the 10 run mercy rule.
Jackson played a solid all around game, advancing themselves to Tuesday’s winner’s bracket game against the winner of the TRE American and Toms River American game. The game will be played at 8pm Tuesday at Jackson’s Municipal Justice Complex at 8pm.

In today’s game, Jackson struck first and struck hard. Toms River walked #5 Spagnolo to start the game who then advanced on a base hit by Graczyk. Pinto then crushed a three run monster shot over the left field fence past the bleachers to put Jackson on top 3-0 in the first inning scoring Spagnolo and Graczyk. It was just a sign of things to come for Toms River.

Chris Hawryluk pitched solid baseball, retiring the side two times in under 10 pitches over through 4 innings of shutout baseball. Total Pitch count for the game- 39. Thanks to a Defense that came up big.

SS Bohringer steps on the bag and throws a rocket to DeAngelo at first, as Jackson gets themselves out of a sticky situation with an inning ending double play.

Graczyk is tagged out at home. Jackson went on to load the bases with two walks and a Bohringer basehit, but managed to score two runs before an inning ending strikeout cut the rally short.

In the top of the 5th, Jackson put the finishing touches on Toms River East, scoring 5 more runs on a Bohringer double and three solid singles from the bottom of the order.
