Jackson, NJ – Holbrook Little League’s 13 year olds lost a tough game to Berkley Township Wednesday night, 5-3, ending hopes for a Holbrook double championship season. This was the last Holbrook team remaining in the tournament. The 13 year old championship game will be between Lacey and Toms River American in Lacey, Saturday at 1:30 pm.
Jackson Little League’s 11 year olds are still going strong and hope to comeback after 14-4 loss Tuesday. They will be playing tonight in Lacey against Toms River East National, a team they beat 10-0 just a week ago.
In the 12 year old division, District 18 Champion Jackson Little League hopes to play their second game in the section 3 tournament tonight after being pushed back two days by rain. They will play Nottingham (1-0) in Sayreville at 8pm tonight. A win will guarantee the team a spot in Sunday’s S3 championship, a loss will have them playing an additional game on Saturday which they must win.
So far in 2009, Jackson Township has claimed 2 of 6 District 18 titles. Go Jackson!
