TRENTON – Senator Diane Allen (R-Burlington) and Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini (R-Wall Township) today released statements denouncing Governor Jon Corzine’s negative campaigning:

 Senator Diane Allen:

“Governor Corzine is hoping we won’t notice what a mess he’s made of New Jersey. He is insisting on using negative campaigning instead of discussing the issues. Governor Corzine IS asking us for another term as governor, but he doesn’t want us to focus on his disastrous policies that have led to lost jobs and a damaged economy.  Rather than defend his failed record, Governor Corzine is going negative with attack ads.  New Jersyans reject this style of campaigning, and will continue to reject Governor Corzine and his lack of solutions.”

  Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini:

“The Corzine campaign is clearly floundering and is now resorting to character attacks and negative campaigning. Rather than engage the struggling people of our state with a discussion of ideas and solutions, Governor Corzine is running away from his failed record.  New Jerseyans deserve to hear from Governor Corzine about how a second term would be different from his disastrous first term.  All they’re getting is a campaign of smears and distortions.”
