Jackson, NJ – New Jersey Republican candidate for governor and former federal prosecutor Chris Christie spent more than an hour taking in the sights at Jackson Day on Saturday. Mr. Christie arrived at the celebration shortly before noon before continuing on to his next Jersey destination shortly after 1 pm.
Mr. Christie walked the grounds and introduced himself to residents, gracefully taking pictures with Jackson residents along the way. Christie, currently running for Governor of New Jersey in his efforts to “Take Back New Jersey” from high taxes, corruption scandals and wasteful spending under current governor Jon Corzine which has seen New Jersey’s unemployment rate balloon to nearly 10% which has driven many once beneficial businesses out of our state.
At Jackson Day, Chris Christie and Chris Smith both gave their endorsements of Mayor Mike Reina’s bid for election in November along with planning board chairman Ken Bressi as he seeks to win a seat on our township council.

Like Mr. Christies’ Take Back New Jersey campaign, Mr. Reina and Mr. Bressi have both implemented sweeping changes to help Jackson residents “Take Back Jackson Township” after inheriting quite a mess from former mayor Mark Seda who was forced to resign over numerous scandals of his own during his tenure as our town’s mayor.
Mike Reina since taking the reigns as mayor of Jackson Township has introduced sweeping changes in the way Jackson Township operates including the creation of several resident based committees and is a proponent of open and transparent government.
Ken Bressi was vital in his role of Planning Board Chairman in the establishment of a new Master Plan for Jackson Township which will guide out township’s future economic development and environmental conservation for decades to come.
