Jackson, NJ – Residents were excited at the buzz that both Chris Christie and Governor Jon Corzine would come out and show their support for Jackson Township at Jackson Day on Saturday.  Chris Christie came through for Jackson and spent time talking to residents and enjoying our day.   Jon Corzine, on the other hand continued letting down Jackson Residents by being a no show on our festive day.

Corzine’s absence, while hardly noticed by many was as symbolic as his continued absence when it comes to representing Jackson Township taxpayers.  Many Corzine backed policies and programs are assaults that directly hurt Jackson Township including COAH, Abbott Districts and many other policies that keep Jackson Township from getting our fair share of state aid as most of our tax dollars go to urban centers leaving Jackson residents paying even higher taxes to cover the gaps left by Corzine.    In the past Corzine staffers have told Jackson Township officials and school representives we are a wealthy town and can foot the bill ourselves.

His absence let down a few residents, including local Tea Party members who came out to protest his appearance.  They had to pack up the signs early once confirmation was given that once again, Jon Corzine had passed over Jackson Township’s interests.

Perhaps most affected by the Governor’s no show would be local Jackson Township Democrat Club candidates Mike Kafton and Howard Tillis.  While Christie came to Jackson Day to give his endorsements for Mike Reina and Ken Bressi, Corzine shunned local democrat representatives.

Phone calls made prior to Saturday and since to find out why Corzine left Jackson out in the cold have gone unreturned.
