Daniel Regenye, OCHD Assistant Public Health Coordinator, stated, “We have now completed eight (8) H1N1 vaccine clinics. In five of the clinics, we used the injectable vaccine and in three (3), we used the H1N1 vaccine intranasal flu mist.” He added, “People are becoming more aware of the need to be immunized against H1N1 and we are looking at the priority populations and the best way to reach these populations.”
Freeholder Deputy Director Gerry P. Little said, “The Health Department has been working above and beyond to get our residents vaccinated against both H1N1 influenza and seasonal flu. It has been a tremendous effort to coordinate both types of clinics and as H1N1 vaccine continues to arrive in Ocean County, the Health Department will continue its planning of clinics to offer this vaccine to our residents.”
Leslie Terjesen, OCHD Public Information Officer, stated, “We are still focusing on the priority groups identified by the CDC. Enough vaccine has been ordered that eventually, anyone requesting this vaccine can receive it.”
