Jackson, NJ – Go Kids NJ, a website that has been the #1 source of New Jersey family entertainment and event information is getting a facelift in January after 5 years of serving the general public.    The website, which began in 1995 as a New Jersey events aggregator service for families with younger children has served nearly 15 million visitors since its inception.

Website creator Phil Stilton says “Go Kids NJ is unique in that we are focused mainly on establishments and events that are family friendly.  There are several other websites out there which are great at overall New Jersey entertainment, but we filter out the bars, night clubs, casinos and adult oriented subject matter and provide families with a convenient and easy to use calendar and search function that gives them what they need for their children.

Go Kids NJ has recently signed agreements which will allow the website to import event feeds from TicketMaster and movie time tables from Fandango, a leader in online movie ticket purchasing.    The company also has working agreements with Travel Now which will allow visitors on the website to look up events and check out local hotel accomodations with a single click if they wish to make anight out of it.

“Becoming affiliated with companies like TicketMaster, Fandango and Travel Now is a win win situation for everyone involved.  While we’re currently only helping to promote tourism in New Jersey, we will soon be actively helping local businesses directly generate income as we head into the 2010 tourism season.” Stilton says “When we first started this project, we were actually turned down for a New Jersey tourism grant and today we’re one of the leaders in promoting New Jersey’s tourism industry in the Garden State.  It was a blessing in disguise for us.  At the time, it was a setback, but through hard work and determination we did it alone and didn’t need the help.  In a sense, we don’t owe anyone anything either”.

Despite being shunned by the NJ Division of Travel and Tourism three years ago, Go Kids NJ has built a vibrant online entertainment portal which 20,000 visitors which draws more visitors than the state run visitnj.org, according to independent auditor compete.com.

In January, GoKidsNJ will launch its updated online portal to the public and continue promoting New Jersey family tourism as it has done for the past 5 years.

GoKidsNJ is a free services for businesses and travellers.  Over 300 New Jersey businesses post events to GoKidsNJ and over 3,000 family entertainment businesses and venues are listed in the online directory.   Visit www.gokidsnj.com to learn more.
