Paterson resident says Jackson’s appointment of Torres a wise decision

I would like to congratulate the Jackson Council on their appointment of former Mayor Joey Torres as Business Administrator.
I worked closely with the Mayor for almost 8 years and he is by far the hardest working Mayor in the city’s history and accomplished more in eight years than all the Mayors in the previous several decades. The so called “Center City” project had been promised by every Mayor from when Joey was a little boy.
I called it the largest development project since the Great Fire of 1902. Once elected Joey Torres hit the ground running and in two years ground was broken on Paterson’s Center City project. Today this multimillion dollar, 300,000 sq.ft. mall stands in the heart of downtown Paterson – and, it was all done without a degree! The Jackson Council made a wise decision.
