Jackson NJ Online was founded in early 2008 by Phil Stilton, owner of Stilton Company, LLC, a global market leader in online media and marketing. With a long career in both print and online news media and new media development and marketing, Stilton Company launched Jackson NJ Online in 2008, following suit in very successful community based portal and tourism and travel promotional website such as their popular NJ Family site, Go Kids NJ (launched 2004) and building the world’s first real time cruise ship tracking website in 2005. Taking on the successful model of Go Kids NJ and other online communities developed by Stilton, we brought our technology and idea home to Jackson in 2008.
The purpose of Jackson NJ Online is to provide a place for residents of Jackson to communicate with each other about important issues within our town, provide information on local events and to promote local businesses and organizations to the community at large. Residents may voice their concerns and opinions of local events as they happen. We work with many local organizations to centralize the steady stream of information within the township into a single and convenient location.

Jackson NJ Online and JTOWN Magazine are not “Newspapers”. In fact, our publication and website are not intended to serve as “News” but to provide the community with relevant local information for the intent to spark dialogue that is not afforded elsewhere.
In just 3 years, Jackson NJ Online has grown from a simple community and government activism portal to a full fledged online community for the township of Jackson. Jackson NJ Online now averages between 2,500 and 5,000 readers per day. We accomplish our goals by providing daily, important and relevant topics for Jackson area residents. From Jackson, NJ Online, JTOWN magazine was born in 2010. JTOWN is a monthly Jackson Township Family & Community Magazine that gives each and every resident, Jackson Township updates in full color each and every month, delivered to their mailbox.
All residents are welcome to participate, contribute and create the topics online. We do not have a “newsroom” calling the shots here. This is an “Open Community” website and you are welcome to participate as much or as little as you wish.
In 2011, this platform expanded to Toms River and an Ocean County portal, plus a Toms River Magazine. Over the next year, our plans are to release a county wide newsprint publication and to begin servicing Brick Township, NJ.
