We did it! We are proud to announce that we have nearly achieved our goal for raising $100,000 to aid this worthwhile charity. UTA students and families have worked hard raising funds for Enable of NJ, a non-profit organization that helps handicapped individuals throughout NJ.
Looking back on this past year, the work we performed for Enable has left us with many memories that are sure to last a lifetime. The years highlights of course being Martial Arts in Freehold Mall and the World Record Board Break, Kick-A-Thons, and the presentation of the handicapped accessible van to a family at the 2009 Extravaganza. It really did prove when you give of yourself you receive as much and more in return!
As we finalize our fundraising for Enable, we have selected the charitable organization we will support in 2010. A key consideration for our decision is choosing a charity where our students will experience the direct impact of their focus and efforts – continuing the tradition of our students and families demonstrating they are “Changing the World… One Kick… One Punch… One Karate Student at a Time!”
We have selected The Smile Train as our 2010 charity. The Smile Train is a non-profit organization that provides cleft lip and palate surgeries to children throughout the world. Many of the children they assist cannot eat or speak properly and consequently are prohibited from attending school and working to earn money. They face very difficult lives filled with shame, isolation, pain and heartache.

2010 and December 2010. Unbelievably – each of these 200 UTA families represents the hope for a changed life! Most importantly you will be proving that no matter what your age you can make a difference – an important leadership skill to develop! We can do this together – Martial Arts With Hearts, the UTA non-profit foundation, has raised over $50,000 yearly for the past 4 years – and nearly $500,000 since being founded 6 years ago.
Please join us at this year’s Extravaganza as we celebrate the completion of our work with Enable and launch the “200 Smiles Project”.
