Fisher Price – Little People Lil’ Movers Airplane
Editorial Review
“Ready for take-off here we go!” Diminutive pilots in training can let their imagination take flight with this stocky, swooshy, wiggly-wobbly airplane. Measuring 12 inches nose to tail, and 8 inches from wingtip to wingtip, this sturdy plastic plane features a pilot, two passengers, a piece of luggage, a door that opens, six windows, including the pilots windshield, a handle over the cut-out top, working wheels (which make the pilot and passengers go up and down as if encountering turbulence), and the obligatory face on the front of the craft. Push down on the pilot in her seat (yes, her seat we are in the 21st century, you know!) for flashing lights, a tune, flight attendant commentary, and swooshing airplane sounds. Judging from the outfits of the passengers and the palm tree design on the wings, this aircraft seems to be headed for a tropical port–airport, that is. Whats not to love? Reina-Bressi Bring Experience, Professionalism & Honest Answers
Iam glad to see that numerous candidates have qualified for the Jackson mayoral and Township Council elections. I have a strong interest in town government, but not town politics, and try to attend as many meetings as I can, to hear and learn. Sometimes I try to contribute opinions and ideas. Although all of the candidates appear to have Jackson residents’ and the town’s benefit at the heart of their candidacy, some have substantial education, knowledge and hands-on experience in volunteering for various committees and events to help the people, without the benefit of any public acknowledgement. In this day and age, integrity, sincerity and the willingness to take on a position of high scrutiny far outweigh what used to be acclaimed as the optimum requirement — an “outstanding” education with or without long-term experience. That is why my vote will go to Mike Reina for mayor and Ken Bressi for council. I, as a newcomer to Jackson four years ago, did not know where to get help with my builder problems, Westlake North gate problems, strip mall across from Westlake North entrance problems, and was fortunate to get help from Ken Bressi. “Charlotte, you and your neighbors may not like my answers to some of your problems, but you will only get the truth from me” was Bressi’s answer after in-depth research of each problem. No “off-the-cuff” inaccurate answers I have received publicly at some town meetings. When it comes to Mike Reina, who has been helping keep calm the sometimes discourteous meetings (that were the norm before he was mayor), he welcomes other opinions and criticism and handles himself with professionalism by deferring some publicly asked questions with answers by personal response after research. Honesty, integrity, hard work and dedication to town residents’ agenda is the best in both of them

Mayor says 2009 will be a challenge
This letter to Jackson Residents from Mike Reina was released for publication on January 6, 2009… For Jackson Township, 2008 was a year of changes, both bad and good. As if the economic woes facing our state and country, or the threat of looming tax hikes weren’t enough, we had to deal with the uncertainty of who would be governing our town. In the past, politics rather than policy often dictated the direction of how our government was run. Decisions that affected the people of Jackson were made with little, if any, input from the residents. This failed policy will have no place in my administration. Call it a benchmark or a footprint to follow along the way, a new beginning is upon us and with a little effort it can only continue to move us forward as a community in 2009. While I have been mayor for just a little over a month now, I have taken many steps to ensure that the government of Jackson is responsive to the needs of the people.

Mayor says 2009 will be a challenge
Kafton & Co. Did Their Research (or did they)
The original, complete letter can be viewed at the Jackson Times website . A perfect example of how issues become politicised in Jackson is this letter from writer Catherine Genovese expressing concern over the I-195 billboard ordinance. She begins: The mayor presented an ordinance with no background information for first reading on August 25. One has to ask how she would know there was no background information? The council voted to carry the matter over to give the council time to do their own research and have questions answered before voting. Perhaps the democratic majority needs to put more effort into being prepared for meetings. How many times have we heard them carry issues over because they “just received” the information? This ordinance was not the surprise the writer, or those she praises, would have you believe it to be. During the April 28, 2009 township meeting, Mayor Reina presented his State of the Municipality address which in part said the township is in negotiations with private landowners who have property along Interstate 195 for permission to place billboard advertising along Interstate 195 in Jackson. He has also mentioned it at least twice previously, during his comments at township meetings going back to 2008. Not only did the council research but they (led by Council President Mike Kafton) gave an informative presentation on what the ordinance could mean to the residents of Jackson. In truth the presentation was biased, sensationalized and overplayed. The information provided was contrary to that provided by the township attorney, statements of both the planning and zoning boards, and state regulations showing that there were no more than three billboards that could be placed along that road. Joining the one that already exists at the Jackson Outlets, there would never have been more than four. In his usual style, CP Kafton twisted and convoluted the facts, sullying the truth by claiming that 33 billboards could have been placed. In the end what he did was rob the taxpayers of this town of more than $250,000 in revenue intended to reduce the tax burden of each and every property owner in Jackson. This was not a one shot deal. That revenue was to be paid to the township each and every year.

Kafton: Campaign More Important Than our Flag
On September 26, Jackson Township held its annual Jackson Day. I found this event to be fun with a nice parade, good food and interesting civic clubs, crafts and businesses. It was also very informative about Democratic mayoral candidate Mike Kafton. I was reviewing the information at the Democrat Party booth when I saw the American flag taken down and replaced with a huge sign reading Mike Kafton/Howard Tilis. I inquired as to why Old Glory was taken down and was told “Mike Kafton orders.” I have no problem with Kafton having a sign but I wanted to know why our flag was now nowhere to be seen? The response was “Mike feels it is more important people see his name.” How dare he! No one is above our American flag! In the past, I heard stories about Kafton passing school buses with emergency lights flashing as handicapped children were getting on or off. The list goes on. Many folks told me that Mike Kafton is all about Mike Kafton. After watching the removal of the American flag for a Kafton/Tilis sign, an act ordered by Kafton, I also findKafton is all about Kafton
